High School Injury Prevention Program

Each year injuries in high school athletics take a significant toll on athletes and their families and create significant health care costs. The Greenville County Injury Prevention program was developed to reduce the number of injuries that occur in Greenville County high school athletes. We hope to reduce the number of injuries and associated health care costs. The physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and strength coaches at Steadman Hawkins, Proaxis Therapy, and Acceleration Sports Institute collaborated to build a program that area coaches can easily implement before practices and games. The program was designed to be completed with minimal equipment and space, requiring only about 7-10 minutes. The program consists of four components: dynamic warm up, functional, balance, and agility.
